Description

A position has arisen in the immunodiagnostics research laboratory (IDRL) where the successful candidate will be involved in running large scale clinical trials utilising Freelite™ and other Binding Site assays. Briefly, the individual will participate in the investigation of a plethora of disease states including chronic kidney disease, multiple myeloma and other B cell malignancies. A wide range of immunoassays and serum protein biochemical assays are routinely performed including serum protein electrophoresis, SDS PAGE and Western blotting, training will be provided where necessary. This challenging role offers the opportunity to implement The Binding Site assays in a clinically relevant manner. Direct responsibilities include the production of a GLP (good laboratory practice) lab book, laboratory maintenance and large scale data input and manipulation (Microsoft Excel). Excellent organisation and record keeping is key and all data is produced to publication standard. The successful individual will be enthusiastic and have good communication skills.

Essential skills required are:

  • A good Biological Science degree (or equivalent) 2:1
  • Interest/background in Clinical testing

Description

A Laboratory Assistant is required in our Nephs department. The role will involve production of components for use on the variety of neph and turbidimetric analysers, QC of components including assessment of fluids for calibrator and control materials. The assignment of values to calibrators, controls, IRs and panel samples for up to 12 specificities across all analysers. The role will also include completion of production worksheets for all QC, limited line 500 usage for stock control, QC of Quality Control materials such as panels and IRs etc for cross department usage and general laboratory house keeping duties and analyser maintenance.

Description

A Research Scientist is required to work at the Medical School. An enthusiastic team player contributing to protein purification process development, analytical development activities and antibody purification.
