Description

The Technical Specialist will be located in the Northern Calirfornia region of the US. This positon will support customers in that region and surrounding areas but may be asked to cover other areas in the US as needed. Ideal candidate will be in San Francisco.

Primary duties:

  • Perform installations and training on the DSX, future automated EIA Systems, and perform assay validations of Company and non-Company EIA assays as required.
  • Perform installations, training and validations on our new Freelite Turbidimetric analyzer (SPA Plus).
  • Perform Freelite validations on current and future non-Company instruments. Current non-Company instruments are Beckman Immage, Dade-Behring BNII, Bayer Advia 1650, Hitachi 900 series and Modular P, and Olympus AU series, Roche Integra.
  • Provide telephone and on-site technical support for EIA instruments, EIA kits, Freelite instruments and Freelite kits.
  • Coordinate field service support with outsourced Engineers and Company Technical Service personnel.
  • Perform technical presentations at customer sites to prospective customers or at the National Sales Meeting.
  • Attend the occasional trade show to demonstrated and promote any current Company instrument.
  • Assist sales people and customers with writing protocols for Company and non-Company assays and performing work flow analysis.
  • Maintain all customer contact information in Front Zone database.
  • Ensure correct documentation for product complaints.
  • Keep product knowledge up to date.
  • Provide feedback to Company on product performance with suggestions for product improvements and new product development.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to customer sites with short notice, within 24 hours on some occasions for technical assistance.
  • Must be able to travel Monday through Friday as required.
  • BA/BS in a Biological Science or equivalent education with experience
  • Minimum of 2 years instrumentation experience in a clinical laboratory required
  • CLS or MT with minimum 1 year experience working as a field applications/technical support rep preferred
