Diphtheria toxoid Assay
Diphtheria toxoid is a protein antigen and infection with C diphtheria or immunisation with Diphtheria vaccine will therefore produce an immune response predominantly of IgG1 antibodies. Pre- and post- vaccination measurement of specific Diphtheria toxoid IgG provides important information relating to the ability of an individual to respond to protein antigens.
Microwells are coated with Diphtheria toxoid and kits are available to measure the specific IgG levels in serum. The calibrator set supplied contains 7 ready to use calibrators enabling the user to extend the sensitivity of the assay to 0.004 IU/mL.
