ENA Profile Kit
The anti-ENA profile EIA is a semi-quantitative assay for the screening and identification of specific IgG autoantibodies against extractable nuclear antigens (ENA) in human serum, as an aid in the diagnosis of certain rheumatic diseases.
Specifically for screening and typing, the ENA profile offers a single test strip with individually coated wells as in the diagram below:
Each kit contains 12 x 8 well strips and sufficient reagents to allow a maximum of 12 patient samples to be tested. An undiluted positive serum (containing antibodies to all six antigens) and an undiluted ENA negative serum are available to compliment this assay.
Calibration
The assay is calibrated against an arbitrary reference. The results are semi-quantitative and are defined by the formula given below:

Result Interpretation
| Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| < 8.0 | Negative |
| 8-12 | Equivocal |
| > 12.0 | Positive |
