HEp-2 AIM™ - Rapid, simple, efficient
This optimised system simplifies HEp-2 methodology, whilst maintaining the accuracy and reproducibility of results.
AIM (Antibody Impregnated Membrane) technology comprises the coating of Fluorescein-conjugated antibody onto specialised paper strips. These are moistened and laid onto HEp-2 substrate slides enabling antibody/antigen reactions to occur.
Rapid - Incubation of conjugated antibody is only 10 minutes
Simple - No blotting prior to addition of conjugated antibody
Efficient - No dilution or dispensing of conjugated antibody required
Procedure Summary
1. IF-AIM™ paper strips are provided with the HEp-2 slides.
2. Diluted patient sera and controls are added to slide wells.
3. Slides are incubated at room temperature, then washed.

4. The IF-AIM™ paper strip is moistened with water.

5. Strips are laid onto the slides immediately. There is no need to blot the slide.
6. Slides are incubated for 10 minutes prior to washing.
7. Slides are blotted, mounted and viewed using fluorescence microscopy.
