FOCUS DIAGNOSTICS
Focus Diagnostics was founded in California, USA in 1978. The scientists at Focus work closely with scientists and medical experts worldwide and every product has been clinically tested and proven effective in their own reference laboratory. Focus specialises in the development and production of assays for emerging and esoteric pathogens such as West Nile virus, Chlamydia pneumoniae and Bartonella spp. The range of products for infectious disease serology also includes HerpeSelect®, type-specific Herpes simplex virus (HSV) ELISA and Immunoblot kits. These kits offer reliable differentiation and quantitation of HSV type 1 and 2 IgG antibodies.

Prodesse is based in Wisconsin in the USA. The focus of the company's research and development is multiplex real time PCR for the simultaneous detection of infectious disease agents.
The real time PCR product range is being developed with Prodesse's proprietary technology enabling superior optimisation of primer and probe design, coupled with their extensive portfolio of patents and licences covering dyes, organisms and processes. The real time assays currently available are predominantly for the detection of respiratory pathogens and have been optimised for use on a variety of real time platforms.
affigene®
affigene® is a trademark of Cepheid AB, a company based in Sunnyvale, California dedicated to improving accuracy in patient diagnostics and success in treatment by offering standardized real-time PCR kits.
All of the assays within the affigene® product range are designed for the routine clinical laboratory. Each assay has the same PCR profile allowing for multitarget runs with different analytes tested in one run. The assays are also compatible with several real time PCR platforms. The affigene® product range is manufactured in Bromma, Sweden at facilities certified according to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO13485:2003, all products are CE labelled and produced according to GMP standards.
VIROSTAT
Virostat was founded in Maine, USA in 1985. The company provides a wide range of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and conjugates for research in the areas of sexually transmitted diseases, respiratory infections, food poisoning and veterinary diseases. A range of recombinant antigens for viral and bacterial pathogens is also available. The majority of products are available in standard pack sizes and bulk volumes.
