The successful candidate will be responsible for technical enquiries and complaint handling both internal and external for the full range of Binding Site products in conjunction with other Technical Specialists, involvement in product improvement/change processes and creation of technical support literature for launch of new products(in liaison with Product Manager) and training materials.  The role will include training of customer, sales, either internally or at the customer site and attend international meetings as required. The role will also include feedback administration and IT support.

Position is based in BENELUX
 
Essential skills required are:
 
  • A relevant Scientific degree (or equivalent).
  • A Biology background, biochemistry or immunology an advantage.
  • The desire to work in an office environment.
  • An organised and structured approach to work.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (  French, Netherland and English)
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • The ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • The ability to travel on an infrequent basis internationally; Belgium, Netherland, Luxemburg, France and UK.
  • The ability to follow set policies and procedures.
Desirable skills required are:

Director of Scientific Affairs

The Director of Scientific Affairs will assume responsibilities for written and verbal communications and collaborations relevant to scientific/medical issues pertaining to the use of Freelite®™ and Hevylite®™ within the assigned territory. Provides scientific/medical assistance to Sales and Marketing teams and customers for educational efforts including: presentations, e.g., Grand Rounds, Tumor Board, articles for Newsletters, etc., and evaluations of company's products.

The territory is defined as: Delaware, Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee.  Candidates must currently live in the territory. 

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

-         Assumes responsibility for Scientific/Medical Affairs activities pertaining to specified areas in support of company's business goals.

-         Make frequent presentations to all levels of customers including Physicians, Laboratorians, Research staff and Sales and Marketing personnel.

-         Work closely with the Clinical Education Specialist, Technical Sales Specialists/Managers, Regional Sales Managers and Technical Service team in the field to optimize customer education and growth of sales due to optimal usage of Freelite®.

-         Develop and maintain contacts with key external opinion leaders and clinical investigators, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, and other key customers regarding medical advances, collaborative studies, and product related issues.

-         Present data at key scientific meetings/conferences regarding company's products.

-         Participate as internal consultant and ad-hoc member of project/product development teams in providing scientific/technical input to ensure that clinical utility of company's products meets clinical need.

-         Reviews correspondence related to patient laboratory results requiring clinical assistance between the Company, patients and physicians.

-         Work with Marketing to write and review technical or clinical content of our promotional literature prior to publication

-         Collect, distribute, review, summarize and archive publications to the database and DSA website.

-         Work with Marketing and Research & Development to facilitate the effective transfer of relevant scientific and clinical information required to meet the needs and objectives of each group.

-         Assist Director of Marketing in the design, organization, execution and monitoring of pre- and post-market field trials to confirm product performance, maximize product positioning, and meet organization goals and objectives. 

-         Maintain a comprehensive understanding of scientific/clinical data and literature related to relevant company and competitor products and disease areas, and effectively transfers appropriate clinical/scientific information to key company personnel and external customers for business-related or educational purposes.

-         Participates in presentations regarding Scientific Affairs to the Company.

-         Prepares executive summaries as necessary to address organizational goals and objectives.

-         Assumes responsibility for data analysis; processes and distills information obtained from external collaborative studies/interactions for communications and recommendations to departments (i.e., Sales and Marketing, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs/Clinical Trials)

-         Ensure all presentations are updated as required with new relevant scientific information pertinent to the promotion of Freelite® and tailored to the specific audience.

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

-         M.D. in a relevant medical discipline strongly preferred with 5 years of experience in oncology, or PhD in Biological Sciences with 10 years of relevant experience required.

-         Scientific experience in areas involving Immunology or Oncology required

-         Scientific experience in Multiple Myeloma and other monoclonal gammopathies preferred

-         Excellence in scientific writing and speaking, including preparation and review of pre-clinical and clinical data for abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations, preferably in Immunodiagnostics or closely related disciplines.

-         Data management skills (i.e., basic statistical analyses and data handling, interpretation of scientific data, and development of graphics) is required.

Clinical Education Specialist (Oncology Sales)

The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for the promotion of The Binding Site products in the designated territory. Responsibilities include promotion of Freelite® to new customers while maintaining current customer base.

This position will cover New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C.   The ideal candidate will be located in the Greater New York City area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
-         To develop and increase sales to achieve targets for The Binding Site products to local clinics, physician offices and Cancer Centers within the defined region.
-         To follow up on leads generated by advertising, mail shots, trade shows, etc. in a timely fashion.
-         To keep up-to-date records in the Customer Management Database (SalesNexus) to ensure accurate communication of the activities and needs of the territory. Enter all necessary marketing information to assist marketing in targeting mail shots to potential customers.
-         To provide prospects and customers with professional sales letters and material in the promotion of Freelite®.
-         To maintain personal product knowledge and stay up-to-date on new product information, technical updates, company policies, etc. as they become available.
-         To make effective and productive use of the time by using both face to face and telephone contact in performing the sales process.
-         On occasion will work with regional Technical Director to achieve territory and national goals for Freelite®.
-         Will set up seminars to include selecting location and catering if required for speakers to include Technical Director’s, Local Expert’s and KOL’s
-         Attend regional or national trade shows when needed.
-         Participate in local, regional and national webinars.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
 
-         BA/BS degree or equivalent education and experience required. Degree in scientific discipline (biological or chemistry based science) strongly preferred.
-         8 - 10 years sales experience within the designated territory with a minimum of 5 years experience selling oncology products required.
-         Must have experience selling to physician based laboratories or physician offices.
-         Experience selling diagnostics products strongly preferred.
-         Travel required could be substantial; typically 4 days a week with 2 - 3 overnights each week most weeks.
